Canouan, pronounced CAN-U-WAN the Carib Indian name for Turtle Island, is a three square – mile island surrounded by small bays and coves, secluded beaches and one of the worlds largest coral reefs, offering incredible diving, snorkelling and sailing activities.

Mount Royal, the highest point on the island at 900 feet, offers panoramic 360 degree views of the whole of St Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada and even St Lucia on a particularly clear day.

South of Canouan are the Tobago Cays, an archipelago compromising five small uninhabited islands, guarded by some of the most spectacular reefs in the world. The brilliant white sand, the coloured waters and the marine life create a rare tropical paradise. The Cays have been declared a wildlife reserve by the government and offer the opportunity of swimming with turtles and snorkelling in complete seclusion. A LONG WHITE SAND BEACH AND TROPICAL GARDENS

Small bays and coves, most with long sweeping white sand beaches, surround Canouan Island. They pristine and a few are a challenge to access. The island is partially surrounded by the coral reef on the Atlantic side, which adds protection to many of the beaches. Endless expanses of fine sand, its gleaming white in dramatic contrast to the strong colours of the luxuriant vegetation and tropical sea await those who seek a solitary encounter with nature.
