FOODIE: 5 Slow Cooking Wings for Every Sports Game

Hello Everyone we had a small hiatus from our Foodie column to take some time an actually enjoy some good food this summer. Thank you for always stopping by the check what mouth watering food ideas we have and we are always grateful for our friends at Delish for sharing some of their amazing ideas as well.

For football fans, fall weekends pretty much revolve around the TV schedule—and it all leads up to Super Bowl Sunday. No matter which game you’re watching, you need a full spread to keep the crew energized past half time. These slow cooker wing recipes taste great and help keep everyone’s stomach happy with minimal effort on the host’s part. No Crock-Pot? We’ve got even more chicken wing recipes, too. Crock Pot Chicken Drumsticks

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c. low-sodium soy sauce, 1/2 c. low-sodium chicken broth, 1/4 c. sweet Thai chili sauce, 2 tbsp. Sriracha, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, Juice of 1 lime
1″ fresh ginger, peeled and minced, 3 cloves garlic, crushed, 4 to 4 1/2 lb.  chicken drumsticks, 2 green onions, thinly sliced, 1 tsp. toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

 DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, chili sauce, Sriracha, brown sugar, and lime juice. Stir in ginger and garlic.
Place drumsticks in a large resealable back. Pour over marinade and seal. Marinate 30 minutes up to overnight. 
Pour drumsticks and marinade into slow cooker and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or low for 5 or 6. 
When drumsticks are tender and cooked through, preheat broiler to high. Transfer drumsticks to a large foil-lined baking sheet and broil until golden and crisp, 3 to 5 minutes. 
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve hot.

Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS

2 lb. chicken wings, 1 c. buffalo wing sauce, 1 packet Ranch , seasoning kosher salt, Freshly ground black pepper, Fresh chives, for servingRanch dressing, for serving

 DIRECTIONS

  1. Place chicken wings in a large slow-cooker.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together buffalo sauce and ranch seasoning and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture over chicken wings and stir to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on high until cooked through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. 
  4. Heat broiler. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and pour wings onto them. Broil until crispy, 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with chives and serve with ranch dressing.

Parmesan-Garlic Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS

2 lb. chicken wings, 1/2 stick butter, melted 4 cloves garlic, minced, 2 tbsp. Dried Parsley, 1 1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan, divided kosher salt, Freshly ground black pepper 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place chicken wings in a large slow-cooker.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together butter, garlic, parsley, and 1 cup Parmesan and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture over chicken wings and stir to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on high until cooked through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  4. Heat broiler. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and pour wings onto them. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan and broil until crispy, 5 minutes.

Bourbon Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS

2 lb. chicken wings, 1 c. barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade), plus more for serving, 2 tbsp. bourbon, kosher salt, Freshly ground black pepper 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place chicken wings in a large slow-cooker.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together barbecue sauce and bourbon and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture over chicken wings and stir to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on high until cooked through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  4. Heat broiler. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and pour wings onto them. Broil until crispy, 5 minutes.
  5. Serve with barbecue sauce.

Chipotle-Lime Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS

2 lb. chicken wings2 tbsp. chipotle in adobo sauce1 tbsp. waterJuice of 2 limes, plus more for servingZest of 1 limekosher saltFreshly ground black pepper DIRECTIONS

  1. Place chicken wings in a large slow-cooker.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together chipotle in adobo sauce, water, and lime juice and zest, and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture over chicken wings and stir to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on high until cooked through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  4. Heat broiler. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and pour wings onto them. Broil until crispy, 5 minutes.
  5. Squeeze with lime and serve.
